The fruit and vegetable further processing industry has entered a phase of rapid development as the emphasis on food safety, processing efficiency, and hygiene standards continues to rise. From fresh vegetables and fruits to pickled and frozen foods, producers have put forward higher requirements for the cleaning process. In this context, the air bubble washing line, as the main equipment for modern fruit and vegetable cleaning, has gradually become the standard equipment for agricultural processing plants, nettle distribution centres, central kitchens, and other industries due to its high efficiency, environmental protection, and non-damage to materials.

Air Bubble Cleaning Machine
Air Bubble Washing Line

What core equipment is included in an air bubble washing line?

A complete air bubble washing line usually consists of the following key equipment:

Air bubble washing machine: mainly responsible for the initial removal of sediment, impurities, and pesticide residues on the surface of fruits and vegetables, through the bubble tumbling, running water rinsing, and brushes to assist, to achieve deep cleaning.

Pasteurisation machine: It is suitable for products that need to be sterilised, such as pickled vegetables, sauces, etc. Through the high-temperature hot water section and cooling section, the products can achieve the sterilisation effect and maintain their taste.

Air drying machine: used for the rapid removal of water on the surface of the product after cleaning, to avoid water residue leading to secondary pollution, while preparing for the subsequent packaging process.

Note: These equipments can be flexibly combined and customised according to the customer’s product type and output demand, forming an automated continuous operation of fruit and vegetable washing production line.

The working principle and process of the air bubble cleaning line

The operation of the whole washing line is roughly as follows:

Spray Cleaning
The fruits and vegetables to be cleaned are put into the bubble washing machine by the elevator. The water tank is arranged with an air blower pipeline, and the air pump continuously conveys the gas. This will form dense bubbles in the water, driving the material tumbling and stirring, simulating the effect of hand washing. And through the upper high-pressure spray rinse fruits and vegetables, remove surface stains. The machine is equipped with brush rollers to further assist in cleaning.

Pasteurisation
Next, the first cleaned materials will enter the pasteurisation machine. The material is sterilised in a high-temperature tank.

Spray rinsing again
The sterilised fruits and vegetables are transported to the bubble washing machine and rinsed again by the high-pressure spray water from above to completely remove the residual impurities and washing liquid on the surface.

Air-drying and dewatering stage
The cleaned fruits and vegetables pass through the air-drying machine, using high-power fans and an air duct system to dry the surface water droplets, reduce the water residue, and improve the packaging efficiency.

Advantageous features of the air bubble washing line

Efficient cleaning: air bubble, spray, and brush triple linkage, clean and do not damage the material skin.

Widely applicable: suitable for leafy vegetables, roots and stems, fruits, seafood, Chinese herbs, and other products.

Energy-saving and environmental protection: the design of the water recycling system saves water and electricity and meets the requirements of environmental protection.

Structure can be customised: according to the customer’s output and material characteristics, with flexible adjustment of equipment length, width, and functional configuration.

Simple maintenance: the equipment is made of stainless steel, corrosion-resistant, and easy to clean, with a long service life.
